Fishing at Lake Mac

Lake McConaughy is Nebraska’s #1 fishing destination. With over 35,700 surface acres and over 100 miles of shoreline, its not only Nebraska’s largest reservoir, but also the best fishery in the state. Lake McConaughy is a great place to catch walleye, white bass, small and largemouth bass, wipers, perch, northern pike, catfish, and trout. The walleye spawn on the dam begins around the middle of April and anglers have continued success through May. During the summer months anglers find success targeting walleye, wipers, and bass on the shorelines casting jigs and lures. Trolling spinner baits and live bait can be successful for multiple species throughout the lake. Stop in to JC Cedarview for the latest fishing reports.
